Job Description

The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) will act as the steward of the concession’s Strategic Plan and oversee local and global initiatives by supporting the CEO to ensure timely execution. The CSO uses strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to advise the CEO and develop, monitor, and execute the Company’s Strategic Plan, aiming to advance the mission, objectives, operational excellence, profitability, and growth of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the CEO in overseeing operations to ensure corporate governance, efficiency, quality, customer service, and cost management.
  2. Advise the CEO on defining, implementing, and reviewing the Strategic Plan.
  3. Analyze risks and complex issues to provide strategic guidance and solutions.
  4. Evaluate operational reports, financial metrics, and budgets to track progress towards strategic and financial goals.
  5. Prepare executive presentations for board meetings, investor conferences, and town halls.
  6. Present performance updates to stakeholders and participate in quarterly Board meetings.
  7. Build relationships with stakeholders to identify new market opportunities, projects, joint ventures, M&A targets, and partnerships.
  8. Participate in the analysis, negotiation, and execution of capital investment projects.
  9. Contribute to capital structure optimization and evaluate executive performance for efficiency.
  10. Foster innovation and technology adoption to optimize processes.
  11. Assist with people, culture, and change management initiatives.
  12. Promote the organization locally and nationally to strengthen community relationships.
  13. Report progress and outcomes related to the Strategic Plan to key stakeholders, including the Board, clients, and leadership.
  14. Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  1. Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred in relevant fields such as Finance, Engineering, Business Management, or Urban Planning.
  2. 10+ years of managerial experience, preferably overseeing infrastructure projects and concession operations.
  3. Experience in strategic planning, project management, and change management.
  4. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  5. Ability to solve complex problems, work through ambiguity, and influence change.
  6. Knowledge of US concession management and government relations.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PC-based programs.
  8. Willingness to travel and relocate as required.
  9. Ability to meet physical and environmental requirements, including travel and lifting up to 10 pounds.
