Creative Arts/Music & Education Director The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Creative Arts/Music and Education Director at the Fredericksburg, VA Corps. About this opportunity: Under the general supervision of the Officer, the incumbent is responsible for the spiritual outreach to the children and families enrolled in the youth music and character-building programs and incorporating these families into the spiritual life of the Corps with an emphasis on Sunday morning worship services. Key responsibilities: Develops, communicates, facilitates, monitors and revises a variety of music and religious educational activities and programs. Ensures all operations are following The Salvation Army philosophy and policy, as well as federal, state, and local regulations. Provides Christian leadership to youth in order to encourage their spiritual and religious development. Recruits and enrolls children, as well as ensures the recruiting and managing of volunteers. What we are looking for in you: Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Education, Fine Arts or other related field Six months experience teaching school-aged children and performing music and fine arts activities with school-aged children. Valid State Driver’s License with a clean driving record. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with weather or discomforts associated with noise, dirt, and the like. Position is predominately afternoon/evening and weekend work hours, as well as required overnight traveling.
