About Pacific Fusion Pacific Fusion was founded in 2023 with the mission to power the world with abundant, affordable, clean energy. We are rapidly designing and building a pulsed magnetic fusion system to achieve net facility gain (more fusion energy output than stored energy input). In parallel, we are developing the key components required to build affordable fusion systems. Our plans are ambitious. We have raised over $900M so far from incredible investors, resourcing us to deliver on these plans. We are bringing together the best scientists, engineers, and operators from the fusion community, hard tech industry, and other sectors. We are united by a shared sense of urgency to provide clean power for the world, particularly managing climate change while meeting growing global energy demand. You can read more about us in this letter from our founders . About the Role Job Overview We’re looking for a sharp, creative communicator to tell the Pacific Fusion story to the world. You’ll develop content that brings our mission, science, and people to life through social media, blog posts, press materials, events, and more, while playing a key role in building and evolving the Pacific Fusion brand. You’ll partner closely with teams across the company to turn complex ideas into compelling, accessible content, and you’ll play a hands-on role in planning events, coordinating with vendors, and building systems that scale. We’re looking for someone with a “whatever it takes” attitude, who is self-starting, resourceful, and energized by the opportunity to build from the ground up. What you’ll do: Write blog posts, social media copy, press materials, and other marketing collateral. Run our social media, growing our followers and engagement by planning and executing on a content strategy. Support press outreach by building media materials, coordinating interviews, and managing relationships. Plan and execute events, handling logistics, vendors, and creative assets. Work with designers, photographers, and creative agencies to bring our brand to life. Partner with internal teams–including science, engineering, people, and leadership –to surface great stories and tell them effectively. Build scalable systems for comms—templates, processes, and playbooks. What you’re good at: You’re an excellent writer. You have an impeccable attention to detail. You’re fascinated with science, technology, and engineering. You’re hyper-organized, detail-oriented, and have project management in your DNA. You have a bias to action—a proactive, “figure it out as we go” type. You’re a creative thinker and problem solver. What you’ve done: 2–5 years of communications experience, either in-house or at an agency. Planned events and worked with vendors, designers, and external partners. Preferred but not required: Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment. Familiarity with social media analytics and tools. Benefits: Industry-competitive salary. Equity plan. 6% employer 401k matching. Generous paid time off (including sick leave, vacation, paid family leave). Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance. Actual base salary offered will be determined by: experience, skills, and work location. This range is for base salary, our total compensation includes equity and benefits. We welcome you to apply even if your expectations are outside our listed range. Pacific Fusion is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
