Veterinary Cardiology Technician

About the Role:
The Cardiology Technician provides patient care for a wide variety of cardiology patients under the direction of the Cardiologist. This is a dynamic role that consists of Technician appointments, assisting the DVM with their echocardiograms, performing a variety of diagnostics, and managing a high volume of client communication and prescription refill requests.

Compensation:

• $25 - $35 hourly, based on experience
• $$ SIGN ON BONUS

Anticipated Schedule:

• Full Time
  • Tuesday - Friday
  • 4x10 hour shifts
  • 7am-5pm

Essential Functions:

• Facilitates the department schedule: consultations, rechecks, Technician appointments and procedures.
• Documents medical information in the hospital’s PIMS, Ezyvet, and utilizes Smartflow for treatment whiteboards.
• Prepares exam and procedure rooms for each visit, anticipating needs of the DVM.
• Obtain patients current body weight, reason for visit and brief history. Obtain other vitals and lab work as needed.
• Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.
• Collects and processes all bloodwork, administers medications, and assists with procedures and echocardiograms per the doctor’s orders.
• Under the direction of the cardiologist and anesthesiologist, runs anesthesia/sedation during procedures as needed.
• Prepare estimates and collect payment as needed.
• Answers a high volume of client phone calls and emails in real time. Before the end of each day, process all communications that are pending and process any prescription refill requests.
• Other duties as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 years of Veterinary Technician experience required.
• Registered Veterinary Technician, in Colorado, or the ability to become registered upon hire.
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of Veterinary Technician experience in a Specialty Hospital .
• Experience running anesthesia
